This is barely adequate for finishing or enlarging small nut slots. Useless for cutting them. The sizes do not come anywhere near the low E or A on a bass. These are clearly not designed for the job. Any amature with a lathe could knock up some properly sized and needle files out of steel and put a real file edge on them and it would be far superior to this mickey mouse alloy toy.

These files are perfectly good if you are looking to lower some nut slots slightly.

Their efficiency will fairly depending on the material, of you are working slot that’s had lubricstion in it. Try clean it out as best you can do the files can really get at the material.

I am onto my second set, the first wore out after a year, I’d say I worked on around 10-15 nuts with them.

That being said and as I’ve suggested, it’s better to work with a nut that only needs a little work to extend the files lifespan.

At about a fiver a year I can’t complain, of course would love the real thing but that’s £££’s

All the tools work just fine and my Telecaster no longer buzzes at the nut - and the sharpening stone comes in handy for other blades too! Great value for a few episodes of adjustments, which let's face it, is all of us amateurs who have neither a well-equipped workshop and/or several guitars needing such attention and adjustment are going to need. Recommended, but be aware that you're going to have some tech and tool-savvy to start with; you don't need to be Stradivarius or Mr Fender but it helps.

Well, I used these to help me set up my Epiphone acoustic. Just about managed the job before bending and wearing out! lol
If you have a few guitars to do, you wont with these!

You need quite a bit of patience 'cos they're not very sharp, but you get there eventually. OK for the price.

Did the job, but you have to be gentle with the files or they will bend.

This does not work. It is the equivalent of trying to cut through metal with a plastic knife! It is simply not up to the job and the product should be withdrawn.
